Privacy Policy

IELTsBandLift ("we", "us") is a service operated by SaaSphire LLC, providing IELTS Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking practice and feedback for the Academic and General Training exam formats at ieltsbandlift.com (the "Service"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

• Account information: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google.
• Writing content: the essays and letters you write for scoring, along with the resulting scores, feedback, and flagged error categories.
• Speaking content: audio recordings of your Speaking practice sessions, their transcripts, and the resulting scores and feedback.
• Reading and Listening content: your answers to practice questions, whether they were correct, and the resulting scores and error categories.
• Learner and goal data: your target band, exam type, exam date, and the competency-level performance data (the "learner model") we derive from your practice across all four skills.
• Billing information: if you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details — Stripe handles that directly.
• Usage and technical data: basic request metadata (such as IP address and timestamps), used for security, abuse prevention (see Section 6), and diagnosing issues.
• Push notification device token:if you use our mobile app and allow notifications, we store a device-specific token (issued by Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you practice reminders. You can disable this in your device's notification settings at any time.

• To provide the Service: score your submissions and Speaking sessions, check your Reading and Listening answers, track your progress, and show your error-pattern and band-gap history.
• To operate your account and subscription.
• To communicate with you about your account or the Service.
• To maintain security and prevent abuse.
• To improve the Service.

Your data is shared only as needed to operate the Service:

• OpenAI — the content of your Writing submissions, Speaking transcripts, and other practice content is sent to OpenAI's API to generate scores and feedback.
• SpeechSuper — audio from your Speaking sessions is sent to SpeechSuper's speech assessment service to evaluate fluency and pronunciation.
• Stripe — used to process subscription payments.
• Google — used for authentication (sign-in) and, for mobile app users who enable notifications, to deliver push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• PostHog — product analytics: which pages you visit and which features you use (for example, starting a practice session), linked to your account ID and email so we can understand how the Service is used and improve it. It does not receive the content of your practice answers.
• Our hosting/database/storage providers — used to run the Service and store your data, including Speaking audio recordings.

We do not sell your personal data or your submitted content (Writing, Speaking, Reading, or Listening) to third parties.

We retain your account and practice history — including Writing submissions, Speaking recordings and transcripts, and Reading/Listening attempts — for as long as your account is active, so you can track your progress over time. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8).

To limit misuse of free trial credits, we record the IP address associated with account creation and may reduce the trial credits granted to accounts created from an IP address that has already claimed a trial. This is a fraud-prevention measure, not a general tracking mechanism.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@ieltsbandlift.com.

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the countries where our hosting, AI-processing, and speech-processing providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
